Every so often a director creates something original and
brilliant, fans will always remember Joss Whedon’s Firefly as the “sci-fi
western”.
Inara Serra, better known as a high society courtesan for
the Union of Allied Planets, chose to leave the Companion House Madrassa to
travel the outer rim on Serenity where she leased a private shuttle for
workspace. Many will remember
Inara for her chemistry with Mal(captain) that was constantly being disguised
by bickering about one another’s careers or personal opinions.
This Asian influenced dress was one of my favorite costume
designs in the series. Played by
American Brazilian actress Morena Baccarin, Inara was one of the most
mysterious characters in the story.
